Pastor Brown attended elementary
and high school in Winter Haven, Florida, where he was graduated from Winter
Haven High School. Following his high school graduation, he continued his formal
education at Polk College, Winter Haven, Florida, majoring in Criminal Justice.
He then entered the Florida Theology Seminary, in Lakeland Florida where in
studied homiletic.
Pastor Brown began preaching when he was 18
and served as associate Minster at St. James Freewill Baptist Church under the
leadership of Bishop H.J. Rodmon for five years. Pastor Brown’s occupational
career spans six years with his most recant experience being that of serving as
Senior Pastor of Mt. Calvary Freewill Baptist in Deland, Florida the largest
African American church in the city. He has served in leadership capacity in
several Christian and civic organizations and has conducted countless crusades,
revivals, and workshops and conferences across the United States.
Pastor Brown is a member of the National
Baptist Convention of America, IMA (where he serves on the Public Relations
Team), Religious Task Force for Domestic Violence (where he serves as
co-Chairperson), and Executive Council Syracuse Healthy Start. He received the
Crystal Apple Award from Deland Middle School, Parent Involvement award from
Florida Board of Education for the home visitation program he developed at
Deland Middle School.
Pastor Brown has a passion to work with young
people, and help to enhance their lives. He has been in the education of young
people in a few different arenas. He worked at Deland Middle School for four as
a student advisor. After leaving Deland Middle school be became the Teen
outreach Coordinator for Syracuse Community Health Center. While working there
he did HIV/AIDS pre and post counseling, HIV/AIDS prevention classes, abstinence
training, health and Hygiene classes, and developed a curriculum that is still
use by that agency for youth development training.
Pastor Brown is currently working with
Hillside Work-Scholarship there he works with you 7th and
8th grade students at Levy Middle School, helping them to maximize
the potential in life while that have some adverse situation in life. He works
with the entire family in coming up with a plan that will help that child in
school as well as the other areas of his life.
In conclusion Pastor Brown believes that just
as we have mortgage and rent to pay to our landlord for living in our homes and
apartments. And since the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, serving
our community is the rent we pay for living here on earth.
