he Rev. James Lee Cherry, Sr. was born in Pennsylvania, and is the son of  the late William and Cordelia Cherry.  He is the husband of Eunice Chaney Cherry, and they are the parents of four children; grandparents of ten grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.  Two of his sons are Ministers of the Gospel

STATISTICS

 

The mission of the Black Leadership Commission on AIDS of Rochester is to mobilize and educate African-American leaders in the City of Rochester to respond to HIV/AIDS and public health, to enhance the African-American communities’ access wherever public policy is deliberated and resources are allocated, and to serve as advocates and provide support to frontline agencies in their daily war on AIDS in Rochester communities.  Through the leadership, the BLCA of Rochester will work to ensure the equitable allocation of resources for the African American community and to enhance the capacity of local direct service organizations.  BLCA of Rochester will develop plans together and engage in joint advocacy at all levels of government to protect and strengthen the public health and disease prevention efforts of the City of Rochester.
