A public forum on Friday February 6, 2015 “live streamed” from the Schomburg Research Center between 9:00am to 11am highlighting the STATE OF HIV IN BLACK AMERICA.
In honor of National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NBHAAD), we invite you to join the discussion and create a plan to fight the effects, stigma, criminalization, and lack of resources for prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS. Our panel of specialists will feature representatives from state, federal, and national HIV/AIDS agencies.
Estimates show that African Americans account for almost half of all new HIV infections in the United States. Approximately one in 16 black men will be diagnosed with HIV during their lifetime, as well as one in 32 black women. NBLCA is committed to our task of promoting healthy communities and hope you will support our efforts.
You too can make a difference by promoting health in the Black community! Here’s how – Share information about HIV awareness and testing events with NBLCA! Together we can reach communities of color; help to decrease the risk of new diagnoses and get closer to the goal to END AIDS! RSVP to attend the public forum on Feb 6th!
